Make a Promise Worth Reading

A Promise Worth Reading
A Promise Worth Reading
5 promises = 1 book for a child
Did you know that during the summer, low-income children fall two months behind in reading while middle and upper-income peers make gains in reading? By fifth grade, low-income children can fall two years behind in reading.

As part of our $1.4 million literacy partnership, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Walmart are working together to decrease summer learning loss. For every five promises made to read a book with a young person, Walmart will put a book in the hands of a child.
Your promise today helps keep kids on track and ready to return to school in the fall.

Your promise counts only once, but you can help us succeed by telling everyone you know to make a promise worth reading.

Tell your friends and family to make the promise and help kids be prepared to go back to school, ready to learn, this fall.
Promise to read with a child!
Tell friends and family to make the promise!
