Are U Heart Smart?

Most people know that Februeary is the month of love.Thats when all the romance movies come out and all you see is the color red everywhere. Not to mention you see pretty little hearts in grocery stores and in advertisements. Most people forget that February is also when doctors bring awareness to heart disease.I for one live in hospitals so I am always getting those little mini books that give you advice in the waiting room.I just had my annual physical and im getting younger in age or thats what my doctor said!Because of my family background he had to go over a few things with me to make shure I keep myelf in good health. One of the things we covered was keeping my heart in good health. Here is the advice he gave me:
  1. MOVE IT!!! Try to get in atleast 30 minutes a day of walking to strengthen blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
  2. INHALE S-L-O-W-L-Y...A few deep breaths daily can lower heart rate and blood pressure.
  3. FLOSS UP...Daily flossing can ward off gum disease,an infection that can lead to artery-damaging inflammation throughout your body.
  4. CUT CAFFEINE..If your heart is racing,it is being overworked-so decrease coffee intake to three cups a day, max.
  5. EAT GARLIC...A heart healthy compound in this vegetable relaxes blood vessel walls.which lowers blood pressure.
  6. Do not smoke
  7. Get your seven hours of ZZZZsss in!
